It seems that whenever I write a new blog post it’s always “been a minute” since the last one. Truth be told there’s a couple of different reasons for that.
- I recently had a little technological error with my computer and then I had to send it in to get repaired so that took a few days. Come to find out that it’s a little bit more damaged than originally thought so I had to pay a rather large sum to fix it and it just arrived back at my house today.1
- I don’t read a lot of blogs, and I’ve read somewhere that you should always read what you want to produce so then you can understand it, get used to it, get into the style of it. It’s good exposure. I haven’t really ever found any journal-like style or personal blog to follow and enjoy reading in my free time. Maybe I haven’t looked hard enough?
- Still been suffering from a rather awful writer’s block that honestly probably lasted years – but these past couple of weeks I have been getting myself to do old, healthy habits that I honestly miss doing.
Which leads me into my point on why I insist that this time I am “back” and going to promise to try harder when it comes to writing and publishing blog posts. I have been writing in my journal loads, I finished reading two books (one of which I had already read before, but still counts), and I’m constantly looking for inspiration everywhere I go. And when I feel this need for pouring out creativity, I always come crawling back to this blog to give it another go.
I’ve made myself a list of possible things to write about, and I’m going to attempt to write them all relatively soon and then schedule their postings so that they come out on a steady basis. And if I don’t resurface after today, know that I got busy with my damn job and damn life.
I want to be able to revisit old memories and thoughts clearly, and that’s why I want my writing to be well-documented and organized here on this blog. My past posts always used to make me cringe because I feel like I didn’t put the right amount of effort in. I also tend to forget a lot of things and blogs are something people create to remember and archive, so that’s what I’m going to do.
1: Can you do footnotes in a blogpost? Whatever, I’m going to try and do one anyways. I get my laptop back in the mail right, and they replaced the parts that were damaged. None of my internal information was harmed in the process so I was very thankful for that! But my laptop used to be adorned with stickers that I had collected over the years and I got my laptop back clean as a fresh sheet of paper. Talk about disappointing. But I bought a fancy, protective case to go over it, so not only will it protect but will also refrain me from covering up the designs (all other bare space will be covered with stickers anyways though).
